Technical Tutorial

For my technical tutorial I will be showing how to start a new project from Adobe Premium. First you go to applications and go Adobe Premium. You open it up and press new project. Once that is opened up you start our project. Make sure your project name is changed so when you need to open it back up you know what file it is.

Strengths 

i think my strengths in e-Communications is the video strands. I think I need improvement in animation, I am not the best at animation. The most I loved about this semester was video and learning all about what has to happen behind the camera to get a good video. Something i would do differently is write more notes in animation so I don't fall so behind. Overall I earned that-Communications and the projects take a lot of time. One goal I have for next semester is to become more involved in e-Comm outside of school. 

Web Design 

Process

The process took awhile considering the tutorial videos where pretty long. I did have to stop a couple times to re-watch and make sure I did everything correctly. I had never used DreamWeaver so that also took me awhile to get used to. The actual website wasn't very hard, you just had to make sure you were doing everything correctly. 

Project time

For this project we had about 3 days to work on it and I honestly think that was enough to go through all the videos and make your website. I actually ended up finishing early. I did use my time wisely during class and asked questions when i needed to, I also didn't need to come in before or after school.

Challenges 

Some challenges I faced was with the coding and how it somehow messed up my website with the format. I asked Mr.Cooper and he could not figure stout so we left it as is. Other than that I did not really face ay other challenges and understood most of it.

What I learned

I learned web design isn't the easiest and it takes not of time and patience especially when you run upon a problem. 

Overall opinion

Overall I really like web design. I already had some web design before dong this. In 8th grade I took computer applications and one quarter was all about web design and coding. I also really liked my final outcome

Chase Scene Video

This video was definitely one of my worst ones. We got all the shots needed but I needed to get the editing done fairly quickly. I did learn how to do new things with adobe premiere besides the badly edited video. I learned how to add a blank screen with text which seems easy but takes more steps than I anticipated but I learned how to. I think next time something I will do better is editing for sure and possibly getting more shots so all the scenes tie in together and make sense. Also shortneing some rather long scenes because this video is probably one of my longest videos. 

Sequencing and chase scene video

In this video we had to use sequencing in a chase type video. Sequencing means, in this case, connecting all the scenes so the video makes sense.  I thought this specific video was semi-harder because we had to add scenes for the sequencing so the video makes sense. So we had to be a little more specific and organized when making the ode and making sure we had all the right shots. I did think this vide was really fun to record though and I liked the end product. Next time I will probably record more because we were on a time crunch during this video so we couldn't add more clips but it still turned out good.

 For this project we had to film using all six shots. Medium, wide, close up, extreme close up, over the shoulder and extreme wide. each frame had to be from 3-4 seconds. It took to class days to finish my video. We also couldn't cross the axis line in the video. It wasn't to hard to produce the video because I had a story board to go off of that we did before shooting the video. Along the way I learned that sometimes you have to change some of the story line to make the story make more sense and be a little more entertaining.To edit my video I used adobe premier, an editing software. I thought  it was going to be a little harder to use but I actually didn't have that hard of a time using premier and editing my video.

Next time I do this video I think I will se a different story line because I don't like the story line I used for this project. Overall I thought this project was fun and I learned new things I never learned like the six shots and the axis line rules.

And this is a medium wide shot. This is me jumping up in the air. this could also be considered a action shot. 

And this is an extreme shot of Olson's class. They are doing there bouncing ball animation. Extreme shots can be used to establish where something is taking place.

Social Media

What I think about social media, and what we post.

I think it is very true that teenagers think that they can post or send whatever thinking they can just delete whatever they posted when thats not true. People will screenshot and whatever you post can haunt you in the future. For example when applying for college, they have access to all your social media like anyone else and just one tweet one Facebook tweet can end your college dreams. Although I think they shouldn't be investigating your social media posts because not everyone perfect and we all have our flaws and some might be shown in our social media posts. Also we should have the freedom of speech and be able to post things and not have that affect our future, unless it influences drugs or alcohol because this really bad.  

Although I do like social media, it can be dangerous at times and you have to be safe with what you put out there.

Elevator Pitch

My name is Sammy Sierra, my favorite color is blue and I like watching the flash, the walking dead, american horror story, the arrow, super girl and Grey's anatomy. I am an ONW student apart of raven service club, medical club, principals advisory, robotics, basketball and track! My peers often think I'm cool and funny. I want to play a role in video and maybe ONW now. My motivation is my mom and my dog. I also like to interact with my dog like the dog whisperer. I have been told i have good communication and collaboration skills. I don't really know what do in the future possibly something in the medical field not really sure yet. 

Building Process 

I think building and animating this house was one of my strengths compared to all my other animations. I had a lot of fun finding out what house i was going to replicate and actually building it. 

What I learned

I learned that building a house has a lot of steps to it, like when you are trying to get exact measurements. I also learned you can do a lot with sketchup. For this project we just built a house but sketchup can be used for many other things. I also learned about 3d warehouse, which is used to add other objects that are harder to build into your project, I thought that was really cool because it had so many options and made it seem a little more fun. When I added my showing to my house I think it really gave it more life and more realistic.

Animating process

The animating process was really easy compared to photoshop which had many steps to it. I really liked how easy it was on sketchup. 

My Ten Strengths 

How my project was made.

This project was made in photoshop. Instead of a timeline we used in our last project we used a different time line specific to being able to move the words during our animation. We took our ten strengths we came up with a while ago and embedded that into our project in front of our background. Which I chose to be my dog, Chloe.

What I learned.

I learned that there are different types of timelines for certain animations.And as always at times it was challenging but I am happy with how my animation came out. If I had to do this differently I would set up my words in a different order. Overall I am pretty happy with the turnout.

Over all I thought I did pretty good and taking better notes helped me go through the process. And squashing and stretching was also not that hard. But I was set back because I was gone on Wednesday for a school assembly so I missed put on a lot and that is what set me back. I did end up getting back on track and was able to finish on time.

i feel like if I wasn't gone that one day I would've been fine and on track, so I hope for our next animation I am not absent.

Bouncing Ball Animation

So today in E-Comm we made animations! Not gonna lie, I am not that good at animation. But thanks to Mr.Olson's help I got through it. Even though my animation is a little glitchy, its pretty good for my first animation. The process took a while but it was worth it. I learned that photoshop isn't easy. I also learned about squash and stretch and ease in and ease out. Next time I might take more notes so I wont get as lost, but I did take enough notes to were i was able to do most of it.

Here is our team working on our flag. (Sammy, Rosie, Brogan, Taylann and Albert).

 This is the finished product. Roses symbol is The cloud with lightning coming out which represents energy. And Taylann has a cloud with rain which represents calmness. Sammy has a flower which represents happiness. Brogan has a sun which represents joy and lastly Alberts symbol is a crow which resembles darkness and mystery.

The weather that day had shown heavy chances of rain, luckily we did not get rained on.
